School Holidays have begun

Well it was sunny here 1st thing in Waiheke I should know our 2 eldest are ready for day light saving – our day started @ 5.30am - remember put your clock forward an hour tonight!

Yesterdays sun was great, it made up for the cold wind and rain that the previous day had been. Backpackers and those just wanting a break started to arrive here at Kina Backpackers on Waiheke Island and are now this morning are enjoying some of Lukes freshly made bread.. I’m still trying to get 1/2 as good as he is at bread.

I can’t believe how fast the week has gone, it feels like just yesterday that Luke and I went out on our date to Miro mmm… the food was devinne. Kat & the team were as always such amazing host,we hardly knew Kaitlin was with us as Kat kept whisking her away so we could enjoy our meal all the produce seemed to have come from different suppliers here on Waiheke and the chef has even managed to get me to enjoy eating Oysters from TeMatuku, the flavours of each dish were outstanding.. another reason we love Waiheke so much is the great food here and hospitality that you can’t get in the city where else do you know where your food has come from and the owners in person. It almost felt though as if we were still at the backpackers.. 2 of our German guest were at the bar enjoying some of the wines after helping Kat & Dr Bond bottle their reds for 2010 and to the right a lovely couple enjoying a romantic weekend away on Waiheke with cheap accomodation @ Kina Backpackers so thier money could go futher on enjoying the treats they came across whilst staying here.

Well folks thats me for another week – I’m off to the Naki for a week with the kids to see family. Leaving Luke to it here @ Kina backpackers… he promises to paint some of the rooms while I’m away .. I’m sure he’s just going to enjoy having time to himself without us around – come over and keep him company this is the last week we are having our winter rates.
